2009 Europeans - Day 6 - Ireland v Denmark

Irelandput in a strong performance in the fnal game of the 2009 European Championships against Denmark this morning. Having already achieved their objectives of finishing in the top 10 Ireland went into this game in positive spirits. The team played well and went goal for goal in the first quarter but with some turn overs given in the second and third quarter Ireland had to battle it out to the end, forcing the Danish Team right to the last seconds of the game. While the final score line of 41 - 47 was not in Irelands favour, this was a very strong performance against an extremely strong Danish side which were tipped to finish in the top 6 of the competition. This was a very positive tournament for the Irish with some classification changes opening up some new line up options that can be developed for the future. This is just the beginning for a developing Irish Team who are building towards the 2011 Europeans in the hope of qualifiying for the 2014 World Championships wih a view on the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games. Well done Ireland....
