Irish Wheelchair Rugby Announces Team For 2011 IWRF Europeans
Irish Wheelchair Rugby today officially announced the Irish team for the 2011 IWRF European Wheelchair Rugby Championships. Eight players will make up the team, which will represent Ireland at the forthcoming Championships, to be held in Notwill, Switzerland from 30th September - 10th October 2011.
Commenting on the announcement, Irish Wheelchair Rugby Chairman and Team Captain, Mr. Alan Lynch, said “We wish the team the very best of luck. We hope to see a strong performance in Switzerland and maintain our Ranking within the Top 10 Teams in Europe. It is also promising for the future of Irish Wheelchair Rugby to see new squad members coming to the fore. This is the beginning of a long journey for Irish Wheelchair Rugby to build towards qualifying for World Championship and Paralympic Games. This is a team of very talented players and this is a perfect opportunity for them to display their talent. The team is looking forward to the challenge of this European Championships and is looking to improve on their current European and World Rankings in the hope of qualifying for the 2014 World Championships.

3.0 Deirdre Mongan Milltown, Co. Galway (Resident in Dublin)
3.0 Stephen Aylmer Marino, Co. Dublin
